Plastic lunch boxes are commonly made from polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and sometimes polystyrene (PS). PP is durable, heat-resistant, and often BPA-free. PET is clear and lightweight. PS is less used due to safety concerns.

When labeled as food-grade and BPA-free, plastic lunch boxes are generally safe. However, extreme temperatures can cause plastic to break down over time.

Choose the size based on your usual meal portions and portability needs.

Hot food: Use only in heat-resistant plastic (like PP). Always check product labels.

Microwave use: Only microwave microwave-safe plastics. Leave lids slightly open to vent steam.

Keeping food fresh:

• Ensure tight sealing.

• Use ice packs for cold foods.

• Separate wet and dry items.

Cleaning:

• Wash with warm, soapy water.

• Use baking soda or vinegar for stains.

• Clean lids and seals carefully.

Replace lunch boxes every 6–12 months or if damaged.

Recycling: Many are recyclable (PP, PET). Check local guidelines.
