Since the very first day of practicing social distance and taking precautions to protect ourselves from the pandemic, it has been more than 1 year. And... St. Patrick’s Day is coming again. Oh, you have to miss being a part of the street parades and the binge drinking until we were all Irish rovers as much as we do!
Quit being sad, though! There is absolutely no reason to not get your green on and celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day right from your home. If you are looking for some ideas to rock it while keeping your social distance, here are some suggestions, still including lots of luck and good laughs, we promise!
The first thing we want you to do when waking up is to set your mood for a joyful day. You’d better have something green in your closet. This is a must have! You can head over to our store to grab yourself a green shirt featuring your fur babies to better claim your luck this year. What’s a better way to dress yourself than creating a one-of-a-kind Saint Patrick raglan shirt that you and only you can own. Trust me, even if no one is around to admire your outfit of the day, you will still feel fantastic and most importantly, hyped for a celebration day to come!
Don’t forget to finish your look with a four-leaf clover painted on your face. Three-leaf clovers are presented to illustrate the Trinity of Saint Patty - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. However, it is four-leaf clovers that are considered lucky!
Green is the ultimate colour to go to this March 17th. Throw pillows, LED Lights, Table cloths, Bed sheets, Flags, ect., anything is fine, as long as they are green. You can also elevate the festive spirit in your own home by doing some DIY stickers of Shamrocks, Leprechaun top hats and Gold coins. They are easy to make and will be, no doubt, a fun activity to involve all of the family members. Make sure to take lots of pictures to capture all these happy moments, they are definitely treasures for years to come.
In case you are looking for a flag to make your home truly pop in the neighborhood, you may want to have a look at our Happy St. Patrick’s Day flag. You can design your own garden flag by choosing your favorite artwork and entering your family name. Simple as that, you are seconds away from the most original flag that belongs only to your family.
You are probably thinking: “No way! I don’t have enough time to come up with my own clues!”. Don’t worry, you do not have to spend hours of brainstorming at all. Download this super helpful St. Patrick’s Day Treasure Hunt Printable from Tauni Everett. What a blessing that they have taken almost all of the burden off our shoulders. Having in total of 6 clues, including “near a door”, “near a place that lets in light”, and “under a table”, all you need to do now is hide a wonderful reward in the last stop. Now, this is the difficult part, you should prepare a present that all of your family members can enjoy, regardless of the winner. Something custom and can be shared among one and another. How about a throw pillow featuring your dogs or cats? I mean your fur babies must be loved by all of your families, right? Because we are definitely worried about the otherwise!
When the game is over, serve some green treats so everyone wins! A lucky twist on a classic treat can be easily created by adding a few drops of green food dye, green frosting and edible gold flakes. Looking for some recipes to love more than a pod of gold, try scrolling through this 40 delicious St. Patrick inspired desserts from Better Homes and Gardens, including Shamrock cookies, Hidden clover cupcakes, Pistachio bars, Key Lime Pie, etc. In case you are wondering, my favorite is Leprechaun Bark. For one, it is such a beginner-friendly dessert to create. And most importantly, I already have all the ingredients stocked in my fridge! Marshmallows, chocolate sandwich cookies, chocolate chips, sprinkles, YAY! It seems like despite how clumsy I am, there are not many things that could go wrong. Oh, how excited am I!
Staying indoor may not be what you have previously planned but who says you cannot have some fun right in your own space? With a few drops of green food coloring, your light beer will turn green beautifully. You can also step up your game with Green Rock Candy, Match Green Tea and Sour Apple Skittles. But really, you are literally minutes away from having your own homemade green beer to make a toastslaintewith your loved ones.
If alcohol is not your ideal drink, how about a mint-flavor shakes? For a healthier version of a seasonal drink, you just have to get some matcha powder mixed with mint chip ice cream and almond milk. To top it off, I like to create an adorable shamrock out of matcha powder using a shamrock cookie cutter. One suggestion though, do not drink this before going to bed or else you will be up all night! Trust me, lesson learned here!
There are plenty of tutorial videos on Youtube on how to Irish dance. But I am personally in love with this video: LEARN an EASY Irish Jig Step for St. Patrick's Day. It is instructive and super beginner-friendly! It may take you some time to memorise the steps and some more time for you to overcome the embarrassment of not having control over your legs but if anything, it will definitely create some good laughs to enjoy with your family! At the end of the day, celebration day is there for us to make good memories with loved ones, right?
